If you’re like most women, you either are or have experienced the physical changes that Motherhood can bring to your body. Whether from pregnancy, the birthing process or just from playing with those wide-eyed smiling wonders we call our children, the physical toll on our bodies is incredible. I am slowly recovering from a sort of carpal tunnel syndrome in my wrists that is a daily reminder of my status as a Mom. Unlike many women who develop this during pregnancy, I developed it several months after my very active child was born. The doctor explained that it should clear itself up as soon as my son is able to hold himself upright. It is better now, although it still shows up when the weather is humid or my son decides he wants to ride in Mommy’s arms for the day.
Alas, that is the real culprit - when my son wants to be picked up I joyfully obey his request. Afterall, how can one ignore those bright eyes and marvelously innocent smile? These moments playing with my son are more precious than anything else. We need more precious moments as life is too short and the chores list is way too long.
Spend some time enjoying your family this week.
